The mixed-use complex Beijing Yintai Centre celebrated its grand opening
on Oct.2008. Designed by Atlanta architectural firm John Portman &
Associates, the three towers, square in form, are studies in simple,
straightforward design. The residential 63-story tower (tallest building in
Beijing in 2007), the focal point of the project, is flanked by twin office towers
and features a five-star Park Hyatt Beijing. In addition to the 237
guestrooms, the structure also features 216 Park Hyatt Residences, 21 Park
Hyatt Penthouses (At an average cost of 70,000 yuan ($9,459) per sq m
($880 per sq ft), the Park Hyatt Penthouses are the most expensive
apartments in Beijing) and Park Life, an exclusive lifestyle environment and
retail center designed by cutting-edge Japanese interior design firm Super
Potato. Crowned with a Chinese "lantern" that creates a soaring glass-
pyramid ceiling within, the tower will house China Grill - the highest
restaurant in Beijing with commanding, 360-degree views and the city's
highest hotel lobby, spa and meeting rooms.
